Dog causes crash on I-270 south; several injured
ST. LOUIS COUNTY - Four people were taken to the hospital Saturday night following a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 270 South. The accident occurred around 8 p.m. after a dog interfered with one of the drivers. Police say a Volkswagen Jetta and a Chevy Equinox were traveling southbound when a dog inside the Jetta got under the driver's feet. The Jetta's driver hit the brakes, causing the Equinox to rear-end the vehicle just south of Manchester Road near West County Center. The 18-year-old female driver of the Jetta and her two passengers were among those transported for medical care. Those passengers included a 15-year-old girl and a 23-year-old man. The driver of the Chevy Equinox, a 22-year-old male, was also taken to the hospital. Police stated that all four individuals involved in the collision suffered various injuries.
