Doctor in Lufkin charged with manslaughter following deadly car accident
A pediatrician from Lufkin was recently taken into custody after being involved in a fatal car collision earlier this month while under the influence of alcohol. The incident took place on Jan. 17 when Demarcus Hadnot was driving on College Drive and his vehicle was struck by another driven by pediatrician George Fidone. Hadnot and his dog tragically lost their lives in the crash. Fidone was found to be intoxicated at the time of the accident and was subsequently arrested on Thursday. He has been charged with multiple counts related to intoxicated manslaughter and intoxication assault with a vehicle. Fidone has already posted bail and was released from the Angelina County Jail. His attorney released a statement expressing Fidone's condolences to the families affected by the accident.
