Details of Fatal Plane Crash in Alamogordo

The National Transportation Safety Board has provided additional information regarding a tragic plane crash near Alamogordo last November. According to the NTSB, the incident occurred on November 26, 2025 when the aircraft departed from Alamogordo Airport at 11:32 am. Concern arose when the plane failed to return to the airport, prompting family members to notify authorities. Following an alert issued by the FAA for the missing plane, New Mexico State Police discovered the wreckage approximately 7 miles east of Alamogordo Airport the next day. The NTSB report revealed that the plane crashed into a steep mountain slope, characterized by rugged terrain and tall pine trees, with the first point of impact being a tree top. Tragically, the crash resulted in a fire that consumed the wreckage and claimed the lives of Patrick Cheung, 40, and Ralph Guerin, 73.
