Deputy Jeremy LaDue remembered six years after fatal crash

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - On Monday, the Charleston County Sheriff's Office honors a fallen officer on the anniversary of his death, who was killed while working a midnight shift exactly six years ago. The agency will illuminate Deputy Jeremy LaDue's monument blue in the Charleston County Fallen Officer Memorial Garden on April 13. Six years ago, Officer LaDue was patrolling the West Ashley area. While driving on Savannah Highway, he attempted a U-turn when another vehicle, also traveling in the same direction, collided with his police car, the agency says. The driver of the other car died at the scene, and LaDue later died at the hospital. LaDue, 29, served with CCSO since Feb. 15, 2019, and co-workers admired him, they say, for his dependability and enthusiasm.
