Deadly pedestrian collision prompts road closure in Van Nuys
Police are investigating a collision that left a pedestrian dead Monday morning in Los Angeles' Van Nuys neighborhood. The incident was reported shortly after 6 a.m. at Balboa Boulevard and Keswick Street. Arriving officers found the victim lying in the middle of the street, an LAPD spokesperson told KTLA. The unidentified person was pronounced dead at the scene. Sky5 was overhead around 7:30 a.m., where a white canopy had been placed over the body. A red Chevrolet SUV with front-end damage was stopped nearby. "So, for that reason, they have the southbound side of Balboa shut down right at Keswick," KTLA’s Rich Prickett reported from Sky5. Investigators said that the incident was not being investigated as a hit-and-run and that the driver remained at the scene. Traffic in the area was being detoured through nearby streets.
