Deadly multi-vehicle crash in Lyman Co. injures many
A tragic multi-vehicle accident occurred near Reliance, SD, resulting in two fatalities and injuries to several individuals. The collision involved a semi-truck and multiple other vehicles on the westbound lanes of I-90. The crash was initiated when a 2008 Mercury Sable struck the back of the semi, leading to a series of subsequent collisions involving a 2025 Ford F-150, a 2013 Ford F-150, and a 2010 GMC Yukon. The two occupants in the front seats of the Mercury Sable, a 28-year-old man from Colome and a 27-year-old man from Martin, SD, tragically lost their lives at the scene. Others involved in the accident sustained various injuries, ranging from serious to minor, and were taken to the hospital for treatment. The adverse weather conditions at the time, including whiteout visibility, played a role in the crash. Permission to disclose the identities of those involved has been withheld until their families have been informed.
