Deadly crash in Albuquerque leads to 20-year-old man's arrest
A two-vehicle crash early Monday took the life of one of the drivers, while the other driver was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide, DUI, and driving while his license was revoked, New Mexico State Police said.Court documents said the crash happened around 2 a.m. near Frontage Road and Fourth Street, where Anthony Ferraro, 20, was allegedly driving a red Honda and drove through a red light at a high rate of speed, colliding with a vehicle driven by Charles Thomas.Thomas was severely injured and trapped in his vehicle until he was extricated by firefighters. He was taken to University of New Mexico Hospital, where he died later from his injuries, the court documents said. A NMSP officer at the scene said Ferraro showed signs of intoxication but said he was unable to take a sobriety test because of injuries from the crash. He was arrested and taken to the hospital along with an injured woman who was a passenger in his car, the documents said.
