Deadly accident in California leaves one dead, driver and infant injured
California Highway Patrol is looking into a tragic accident that occurred on State Route 70 near Striplin Road in Sutter County, resulting in one fatality and an infant being hospitalized on Tuesday evening. The incident involved a collision between a white Volkswagen Tiguan and a red Toyota Corolla, with the Tiguan driving the wrong way in the southbound lanes. The driver of the Corolla, an adult male, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Tiguan, an adult female, sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. An infant who was also in the Tiguan was hospitalized for evaluation. The circumstances leading to the crash are still being investigated by the authorities, including whether alcohol or drugs played a role. Weather conditions, such as areas of fog, were noted in the vicinity of the collision.
