DC police say 18-year-old woman killed in DC295 crash

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Multiple lanes on Interstate 295 were blocked on Monday morning after a woman was run over by an SUV, police said. D.C. police told DC News Now that officers responded to the crash minutes before 3:25 a.m. on July 13. Once at the scene, police found a pedestrian in the southbound lanes of I-295 at Pennsylvania Avenue. She was pronounced dead at the scene by medics. Police later identified her as 18-year-old Camari Primrose of Silver Spring, Md. Police believe that Primrose got out of a car that was stopped in the northbound lanes of DC295. She ran across the northbound lanes, crossed the guardrail and went into the southbound lanes, where a Ford Escape hit her. The Metropolitan Police Department said in an update Monday evening that the vehicle's driver stayed at the scene. Anyone with any information is asked to call 202-727-9099 or text 50411.
