Dashcam video shows Westport crash former WWE boss Vince McMahon was cited for

WESTPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — Dashcam video released by Connecticut State Police on Wednesday shows the multi-vehicle crash on the Merritt Parkway that landed former WWE CEO Vince McMahon with a misdemeanor summons for alleged reckless driving. According to an accident report from Connecticut State Police, the three-vehicle crash happened in the area of Exit 41 on Route 15 North around 9:22 a.m. on July 24. State police said 79-year-old McMahon was driving a 2024 Bentley Continental GT Speed when he allegedly rear-ended a 2023 BMW 430 in the lane in front of him. His car then hit the median wood beam guardrail, sending debris over the center median, which a 2020 Ford Fusion collided with in the southbound lanes. No injuries were reported, and all three parties were wearing seatbelts at the time. The airbags in McMahon’s vehicle, along with the BMW's, were deployed. The three vehicles were towed from the scene, state police said, noting about 30 feet of the median guardrail suffered moderate damage. McMahon was issued a misdemeanor summons for reckless driving and following too closely, resulting in an accident. The accident report lists McMahon’s address as the former WWE headquarters in Stamford. According to state police, he was released on a $500 non-surety bond. On the same day of the crash, wrestling legend Hulk Hogan died at the age of 71. McMahon posted his condolences to X hours after the crash. “The world lost a treasure today. Hulk Hogan was the greatest WWE Superstar of ALL TIME, someone who was loved and admired around the world,” his 2:17 p.m. post read. In October, the Associated Press said a judge allowed him to enter a pretrial program to resolve the charge if he made a $1,000 charitable contribution and only drove if properly licensed and insured. News 8 reached out to McMahon's representatives for comment, but hasn't heard back.
