Darke County dirt bike crash kills 21-year-old, 19-year-old airlifted
PIQUA, Ohio (WKEF) -- A 21-year-old is dead following a dirt bike crash in Darke County. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers responded to a crash on Richmond Palestine Road in Darke County. When officials arrived, they found that a Honda dirt bike, driven by Ian Dixon, 21, was going northbound when it was hit by a KTM dirt bike, driven by Kasyn Hollinger, 19, who was going southbound and went left of the center line. Dixon continued to go northbound after the crash and went off the west side of the road. Hollinger continued to go southbound after the crash and went off the east side of the road. Hollinger was brought by a medical helicopter to the hospital with serious injuries. Dixon was pronounced dead as a result of the crash. Troopers say they are still investigating, though they suspect alcohol impairment, speed, and helmet usage are contributing factors in this crash.
