Cyclists mourn 2 riders killed in Pilot Point collision, stress road safety

The recent tragedy in Denton County has weighed heavily on the loved ones of two cyclists who were hit and killed over the weekend. Scott Mages and Andre Kocher were riding in a group in Pilot Point when the accident occurred. Anthony Ysasaga described the joy of cycling and the special bond he shared with both Mages and Kocher while emphasizing their roles as protectors and leaders within the group. The loss of these two individuals has deeply affected Ysasaga and the entire cycling community, who admired them for their caring and selfless nature. Ysasaga fondly recalled his friendship with Mages and expressed his sorrow at the thought of continuing without him. He urged drivers to be cautious and considerate of cyclists on the road to prevent such tragedies from happening again. The driver involved in the accident cooperated with authorities, and an investigation is ongoing. To honor Mages and Kocher, the Frisco Triathlon Club will be hosting a 5k Santa Fun Run on Christmas Eve morning, and donations can also be made to the Frisco YMCA or the GoFundMe supporting their families.
