Cyclist fatally hit by driver in Rancho Peñasquitos
A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday evening in Rancho Peñasquitos, where a 60-year-old man lost his life in a collision while riding his bicycle. The San Diego Police Department reported that the accident took place on Salmon River Road around 5:35 p.m. The cyclist was traveling northbound along the right side of the lane when a 51-year-old woman driving a 2019 Toyota Camry in the same direction failed to see him and struck his bicycle's rear wheel. Tragically, the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, and his identity has not yet been made public. The driver was unharmed, and authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the incident.
