Cyclist dies in Sullivan County accident
A bicyclist tragically lost their life in an accident involving a vehicle pulling a trailer in Sullivan County, Tenn., as reported by the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office. The incident occurred on Gum Springs Rd over the weekend. According to the sheriff's office, a group of cyclists was traveling east when a cyclist named Andrew Shaw, 59, from Knoxville, attempted to overtake them at a curve and veered over the center line into the oncoming lane, colliding with a vehicle pulling a trailer traveling west. Despite being taken to a nearby hospital, Shaw did not survive.
