Critical injuries reported in Bondurant motorcycle crash
BONDURANT, Iowa -- A crash involving a motorcycle and a car Sunday afternoon in Bondurant left multiple people injured, one seriously and another critically. A crash report from the Iowa State Patrol said the collision happened around 2:51 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 65 and Hawthorne Crossing. A car entering Highway 65 from Hawthorne Crossing, trying to turn south, struck a northbound motorcycle carrying two riders. The ISP said the driver of the car and those on the motorcycle were transported to Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. The motorcycle driver, 45-year-old Jacob Flannery of Colfax, suffered serious injuries, and his passenger, 36-year-old Sharon Bittner of Bondurant, had life-threatening injuries, according to the ISP's report. Only minor injuries were reported for the driver of the car, 27-year-old Ana Kirkpatrick of Bondurant. The Iowa State Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.
