Crews respond to crash on I-93 in Canterbury, officials say

After it had begun to snow Friday evening, Canterbury Fire and Rescue responded to Interstate 93 South just North of exit 18 for a motor vehicle accident. The vehicle, which had struck a granite ledge and came to rest on its side with two occupants who were both transported to a local hospital for what appeared to be minor injuries, officials say.As crews were working on this accident, standard precautions were put in place by police and first responders. These precautions include flares, traffic cones, etc. A second vehicle came through the work zone and crashed into the middle of the blocking zone. This vehicle narrowly missed the first responders working on the scene as well as the emergency vehicles.The driver of the second vehicle was not injured. No first responders or equipment were struck.Working with the Canterbury Fire and Rescue on this incident were Penacook Rescue, as well as the New Hampshire State Police.
