Crash on I-35 in Kansas City causes closure on Monday morning
Overnight in Kansas City, a severe car crash on Interstate 35 resulted in the closure of part of the highway for a few hours. The incident, which occurred near I-35 and 17th Street early Monday morning, caused significant delays due to a car catching fire. Kansas City firefighters responded to the scene before 3:20 a.m., where they discovered the burning vehicle. Fortunately, one individual had managed to exit the car before the firefighters arrived. Emergency responders not only extinguished the fire but also provided medical assistance to the driver, who was later transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The blaze was so intense that it blocked the northbound lanes of I-35 until around 5 a.m. when the highway reopened.
