Crash on I-270 causes lane closures, delays in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Traffic was at a standstill along Interstate 270 in Montgomery County early Tuesday morning following a crash. The collision occurred in the southbound lanes near Middlebrook Road in the Germantown area. Details are limited; however, Montgomery County police said the crash involved one vehicle that rolled over. The Maryland Department of Transportation map showed traffic backed up for more than two miles. Traffic cameras in the area captured morning commuters at a standstill and vehicles slowly inching forward in certain areas. It is unclear if any injuries were reported. Montgomery County police advise drivers to seek alternative routes. DC News Now has reached out to Maryland State Police and is working to gather more details.
