Crash involving pedestrian closes I-40 West in Winston-Salem at Hanes Mall Boulevard, EMS says

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) -- Crews are responding to a crash involving a pedestrian in Winston-Salem on Tuesday night, according to Forsyth County EMS. The road is closed at Interstate-40 West at the Hanes Mall Boulevard exit in Winston-Salem, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation. The road was closed around 9:30 p.m. at mile marker 190. It is not known at this time when the road will reopen. EMS said no one was taken to the hospital. Officers with the Winston-Salem Police Department and troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol are on the scene. All westbound traffic on I-40 is currently being diverted at Hanes Mall Boulevard. All other exits are open, according to a WSPD news release. This is a developing story.
