Crash investigation underway at Santa Teresa Airport
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- Three people, including the pilot, were airlifted after a small plane crash at the Santa Teresa Airport on Friday, June 5, according to authorities. The report of the crash came in at 10:57 a.m. at 8100 Airport Rd, according to Sunland Park Fire Chief Medrano. The airport is also known as the Doña Ana County International Jetport. The plane was identified as a small Cessna plane. Medrano told KTSM that there were three people on board at the time of the crash, including the pilot. All three were airlifted to the University Medical Center in El Paso. One person was listed with critical injuries, and the other two individuals were transported with serious, but stable injuries. "All three occupants have been airlifted for medical treatment," New Mexico State Police said. New Mexico State Police, Doña Ana Fire Rescue and Sunland Park Fire responded to the crash.
