Crash in Roswell kills teen, injures 5 other people
ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – Roswell police are investigating a crash that killed a teenager and injured five other people on Tuesday evening. According to police, a Honda Accord was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on North Union Avenue when the driver lost control and hit a GMC Yukon nearly head-on. The Accord had four teenagers in it, two girls and two boys. The 16-year-old girl died after being taken to a local hospital. The two boys were flown to another hospital for treatment of their injuries that police called severe. The 15-year-old girl had non-life-threatening injuries. In the Yukon, a 56-year-old woman and her 11-year-old daughter were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police believe one of the teenage boys in the Accord was the driver. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
