Crash causes traffic jam on I-69 near Auburn

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - The Indiana State Police is investigating a fatal crash that was the source of a traffic backup Monday on Interstate 69. I-69 northbound was slowed between the Allen County line and Auburn. DeKalb County officials said in a social media post the backup was caused by an accident with injuries by the 325 mile-marker. The ISP later confirmed the crash was fatal. It's unclear how many people were involved. The crash led to the closure of a lane starting around 9:30 a.m. The area, which is also under construction, still appeared to be shut down past noon. A traffic camera from the Indiana Department of Transportation shows the view of the traffic jam from the rest stop near Auburn around 10 a.m.
