CPD reports police fired upon following I-64 car chase and crash.
According to Chesapeake police, officers were fired upon following a car chase that culminated in a collision on I-64 late Sunday night. The Chesapeake police department was informed that Virginia Beach police were chasing a stolen vehicle, which crashed near the 464 ramp on I-64 at approximately 11:45 p.m. The suspects began shooting at Virginia Beach police as they tried to escape on foot. Fortunately, no officers were harmed, and all suspects were apprehended.
