Coroner responds to Spartanburg Co. crash
GREER, S.C. (WSPA)—Five people died in an overnight head-on collision on Highway 101 in Spartanburg County. The SC Highway Patrol reported the collision occurred on Friday around 12:45 a.m. Troopers reported that the Ford SUV was traveling north on Highway 101 and the Toyota SUV was traveling south when they collided near Bellview Road Extension. The driver and two passengers of the Toyota SUV sustained fatal injuries. An additional passenger from the Toyota was taken to a nearby hospital following the crash. Their condition remains unknown at this time. The driver and passenger of the Ford were also pronounced deceased. The Spartanburg County Coroner's Office has not released the identities of the victims. 7NEWS will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
