Coroner identifies victim of fatal Lake Pueblo boating accident
(PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo.) — The Pueblo County Coroner has identified the body of the person who died in the boating accident at Lake Pueblo State Park on Friday, March 13. According to the coroner, the victim was identified as 48-year-old Evans C. Downie of Howard, Colorado. The cause and manner of death are pending further investigation. Howard's body was found by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) Maritime Emergency Response Team on Friday night after a boating accident led to an hours-long search for the missing man. A second boater was able to rescue himself from the capsized boat and make it to shore to call 911, prompting the search. The Pueblo County Coroner stated that Howard's next of kin had been notified.
