The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office has identified a woman who they say was involved in a deadly crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian.Officials say the crash happened at E. Main Street near the intersection of Alabama Street in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Officers say they responded to the scene after receiving reports of a collision involving a pedestrian. Investigators said a 75-year-old woman was walking across East Main Street from a parking lot to attend church services when she was struck by an SUV.First responders treated the pedestrian at the scene before she was transported by ambulance to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. The coroner's office said it was called to the hospital Sunday morning in reference to the crash investigation. They identified the victim as Dolores Dalton, 75, of Saluda Street. They say Dalton died in the hospital from her injuries. The coroner said his office has seen a recent rise in pedestrian versus vehicle crashes and said, “Although I cannot point to one single element causing these incidents, I would ask moving forward, everyone pay special attention when walking near the motoring public.” This crash remains under investigation, and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
