Coroner called after truck crashes into tree, dispatchers say

The coroner was called after a pickup truck crashed into a tree in Lancaster County, according to emergency dispatchers. Police said a witness called in the crash at 6:42 a.m. after the truck drove off the road and struck a tree. The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials. His identity has not yet been released. The pickup truck was destroyed in the wreck. A photo shows what was left of the truck as it was being towed away from the scene. No one else was inside the truck, and no other vehicles were involved. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the East Lampeter Township Police Department.
