Cornersburg Pizza reopens following car crash through front window
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - Cornersburg Pizza is back open Thursday after a car crashed into its storefront on Saturday. Police say the driver's foot slipped off the pedal in the accident over the weekend, knocking out the store's front window. Just five days later, it's patched up and ready for business. The store installed the new door early Thursday afternoon and welcomed customers back in at 4 p.m. "People the last few days have -- they've been wanting it for sure. They've been waiting for it to come back," said Paul Franken, an employee. "I've worked here for 11 years now, so I have a pretty good relationship with a lot of the customers. So, you know, I know a lot of them on a first-name basis. They call, they just say who it is and I know what they're going to order. So it'll be nice to have everyone back," said Jared Gearhart, manager. Store management says the damage was all cosmetic and the building structure is intact. In the coming weeks, they say they'll work toward a more permanent fix for the lobby.
