Contractor injured in Wyoming County construction accident
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A construction accident near Attica Middle School has left one contractor injured. According to Attica Central Schools District Superintendent Dr. Kiel Illg, the crew was working to construct the roof of a maintenance building when the roof trusses tipped over, injuring the contractor. "Our construction management company as well as our director of facilities will assess the situation and timeline," Illg said. "We will be working with the New York State Education Department as well too just to make sure that we are adhering to all the policies and procedures necessary when an incident like this occurs." The employee was reportedly stable when taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight. The Wyoming County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating.
