Collision in Tracy-area involving car stuck under semi-truck trailer; CHP cites fog as a contributing factor
A driver managed to escape with minor injuries after being involved in a collision in San Joaquin County where their car became wedged beneath a large truck trailer. The incident occurred at approximately 7 a.m. near Koster and Vernalis roads, located southeast of Tracy. Emergency crews from the South San Joaquin County Fire Authority swiftly arrived at the scene, discovering that a Toyota Prius was trapped under the trailer of a semi-truck. Firefighters quickly initiated an extraction operation and successfully freed the driver within 10 minutes. Although the driver's injuries were not deemed life-threatening, as a precaution, they were transported to the hospital for further assessment. The exact circumstances leading to the crash are currently being investigated by the California Highway Patrol; however, first responders mentioned that dense fog had enveloped the area at the time of the incident.
