Closure of ice rink in Northern Colorado due to deadly Zamboni incident
The Edora Pool Ice Center in Northern Colorado will be closed for two days following a tragic incident involving a Zamboni driver. An employee driving the Zamboni collided with a partially open overhead door, resulting in their death. No other staff or visitors were harmed in the incident. City officials have refrained from disclosing the employee's identity and are currently reviewing the circumstances surrounding the accident. City Manager Kelly DiMartino expressed condolences and emphasized a commitment to safety, stating that the temporary closure of the ice rink is a precautionary measure to provide staff support and investigate the event. The ice rink will reopen on Thursday, Jan. 30.
