Classic Packard destroyed in Dumbarton Bridge crash.
A recent car collision on the Dumbarton Bridge near Hayward resulted in a classic car being destroyed and caused traffic delays on Sunday afternoon. The accident involved four vehicles, occurring just before 3:30 p.m. in the second and third eastbound lanes near the center of the bridge, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. One of the vehicles, a vintage Packard, caught fire following the crash, but fortunately, only minor injuries were reported by the CHP, and none were related to the flames. The investigation and cleanup efforts by authorities led to the closure of the second and third lanes of the eastbound side of the bridge for an undisclosed period.
