CHP: Woman, 20, killed in multi-vehicle crash on I-5 in San Diego

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 20-year-old woman was killed Wednesday when she was struck by an SUV after her car crashed and became disabled on Interstate 5 in San Diego.The crash occurred at about 1:12 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-5, just south of Washington Street. An 18-year-old woman was driving an Infiniti with the 20-year-old as a passenger when she lost control of the vehicle and struck the concrete center divider, according to the California Highway Patrol.The Infiniti came to a stop in traffic lanes, and both women got out of the disabled car. And then a black Toyota SUV driven by a 52-year-old Chula Vista man then struck the Infiniti and the 20-year-old woman, the CHP reported.The woman suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead. Her name is being withheld by the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office until her family is notified.Investigators do not suspect alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
