Chazy teenager in serious condition after car-dirt bike crash
Two young individuals were taken to the hospital after a collision between a car and a dirt bike in Chazy. The incident occurred on Route 9 around 6 p.m., involving a gas-powered mini dirt bike with a 14-year-old rider and 13-year-old passenger. The dirt bike was traveling southbound when a Buick LeSabre also heading south failed to notice the bike and collided with it, causing both youths to be thrown off. They were promptly transported to Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital for treatment. The 13-year-old sustained critical injuries, while the 14-year-old had minor injuries. The driver of the car, identified as Hannah R. Bessette, 23, showed no signs of impairment, and no criminal activity was found on her part. The investigation is ongoing.
