Chateaugay woman killed after crash in St. Lawrence County

New York State Police are investigating a two-car crash that killed a woman from Franklin County on Friday.Troopers were called to the intersection of County Route 55 and U.S. Route 11 in the town of Lawrence shortly before 9:30 p.m. A 2017 Chevrolet Traverse and a 2016 Honda CR-V were involved.According to police, the driver of the Traverse was going north when they failed to stop at the intersection and collided with the front passenger side of the CR-V, which was heading east. The CR-V passengers were taken to Canton-Potsdam Hospital, where 53-year-old Tammy Brunette-Kaska, who was in the front passenger seat of the CR-V, was pronounced dead.The driver is in stable condition. Three juvenile passengers were transferred to Upstate University Hospital, where they are listed in critical but stable condition. The driver of the Traverse was taken to Alice Hyde Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.The investigation is still ongoing.
