Car in water at Norfolk crash scene
NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A crash in Norfolk Friday afternoon ended with one vehicle in the water and police taking the driver of another car into custody. Norfolk Police confirmed there were two vehicles involved in the crash at Widgeon Road and Sewells Point Road. Officers were called to the scene at 2:19 p.m. According to police, the investigation determined a reckless driver hit a parked car, which in turn pushed another car into a nearby retention pond. Images from a WAVY photographer show the vehicle went off the road into the water. The driver police said caused the crash was taken into custody and will be charged with reckless driving, following too close and DUI. There were no serious injuries reported.
