Car crashes through front of local Walmart after driver has medical emergency

MEDINA, Ohio (WJW) -- A car crashed through the front of a Walmart store Saturday afternoon after the driver suffered a medial emergency, Medina police said. According to a news release from the Medina Township Police Department, first responders were called to the Walmart at 4141 Pearl Road at 4:37 p.m. on March 28 on reports of crash. An investigation found a 44-year-old man was driving in the parking lot when he suffered a medical emergency. His vehicle hit a bollard, went airborne and crashed through the front window of the store, landing partially inside the vestibule area where shopping carts are lined up. Police shared pictures from the scene: Police said the driver was able to get out of the car on his own and was taken to a hospital to be evaluated. No customers or store employees were injured, according to police. However, the crash resulted in significant damage to the building.
