Car crashes into North Las Vegas yard overnight

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- North Las Vegas police responded to a crash overnight after a man crashed into a person's yard. North Las Vegas police posted to social media early Sunday morning, saying that its officers responded to the crash overnight after a driver drove through a wall and into the yard of a home. Around 2:15 a.m., North Las Vegas police responded to a report of a man stabbing himself. As officers were heading to the scene, they learned the man got into a vehicle and drove through the rear wall of a residence on Sunrise Cove Avenue near Ann Road and Simmons Street, police said. No residents inside the home were injured and officers were able to secure the scene. The man was found with self-inflicted wounds and was pronounced dead, according to North Las Vegas police. "Crashes like this are a reminder that speed, impairment, and reckless driving can have serious consequences, not just for the driver, but for innocent people in their homes," North Las Vegas police said in a social media post. North Las Vegas reminded residents to drive responsibly, saying, "Your decisions behind the wheel affect more than just you."
