Car crashes into Mario’s Pizza in Winston-Salem, police say
A traffic investigation is underway after a vehicle crashed into a Mario’s Pizza, according to Winston-Salem police.Officials said the crash happened at the restaurant’s Cloverdale Avenue location.Police said officers determined an 88-year-old driver was trying to park in front of the business when he accidentally pressed the gas pedal, causing his car to drive through the front of the building.The driver was behind the wheel of a 2017 Audi four-door sedan.The Winston-Salem Fire Department also responded. After assessing the scene, crews reported damage to the doors and windows, but no structural damage.At this time, the driver is not facing any charges.
