Car crashes into home, causes gas leak in Ephrata
A vehicle went off the roadway and hit a home, causing a gas leak in Lancaster County. Video: Significant snow on the way, watch the WGAL News 8 Storm Team forecast.The crash happened around 12:20 a.m. Saturday in the area of 25 E. Burkholder Drive in Ephrata Township, according to the Lincoln Fire Company. Crews arrived at the scene and found a vehicle had left the roadway, driven through two yards, and hit a fence, a tree and then a home before stopping. The car hit the gas meter of the home, causing a natural gas leak. The home was evacuated, and the occupants of the car were brought to safety. The fire company was able to secure the leak until UGI arrived at the scene. The car was towed away from the home. It is unclear if anyone was injured in the crash.
