Car crashes into CFD ladder truck that was closing lanes on I-57 northbound overnight, Illinois State Police say

CHICAGO — A car crashed into a fire truck that was at the scene of a previous crash overnight on I-57 on Chicago's South Side, according to Illinois State Police. ISP says a Chicago Fire Department ladder truck was stopped with its lights on around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on I-57 northbound at 99th Street, closing the left and center lanes due to the previous crash. A silver Chevrolet didn't slow down and hit the front of ladder truck, according to ISP. Several people were taken to area hospitals with injuries, ISP says, and all lanes re-opened around 4:30 a.m. No further information is available at this time.
