Car crashes into building on Milwaukee's northwest side
A car crashed into a building on Milwaukee’s northwest side early Friday morning, sending two people to the hospital with serious injuries.According to Milwaukee police, the crash happened around 12:25 a.m. near West Burleigh Street and West Appleton Avenue, close to Holy Cross Cemetery. Investigators say the driver lost control, then slammed into a fire hydrant and the building.Video from the scene shows the car’s front end heavily damaged after the crash.Police said both the driver, a 34-year-old, and a 33-year-old passenger were taken to the hospital with serious but non-fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported.It is still unclear what caused the driver to lose control.
