Car crash in Elmira knocks down light pole
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – A car crash in Elmira on Thursday evening knocked down a light pole. Reports of a crash came in at around 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, where it was learned that a car had hit a pole on South Main Street in Elmira. An 18 News reporter on the scene spoke to an official from the Elmira Police Department, who stated that a driver going north on South Main Street struck and knocked over a light post. The official stated that though the vehicle was damaged, no one was injured. Photos from the scene show crews from the Elmira Fire Department cleaning up oil and debris left on the road. The photos further depict a light pole and street sign on the ground, which is damaged. 18 News will provide updates on the incident if they are made available.
