Car collides with Beverly Phono Mart on New Year's Day

A record store in the Beverly neighborhood began 2026 by dealing with the aftermath of a car crashing into their building early Thursday morning. Beverly Phono Mart had to assess the damages and close temporarily while they clean up the debris caused by the accident. Despite the setback, the owners remain positive and are grateful for the outpouring of support from friends, family, and the community. Co-owner Mallory McClaire shared her surprise upon learning about the crash and expressed gratitude for the assistance in cleaning up and securing the store. The store, which opened 4 ½ years ago as a space to share music and build community, aims to reopen soon to recover their losses. The driver of the car sustained serious injuries and is currently hospitalized. Authorities are considering citations against the driver, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
