Capital Boulevard lanes closed in Raleigh due to crash with injuries near I-540, police say
RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman was taken to the hospital after a crash near a busy intersection during the Monday morning commute in Raleigh. An alert from the North Carolina Department of Transportation around 7:27 a.m. said a crash closed all northbound lanes of Capital Boulevard at Interstate 540. According to the Raleigh Police Department, a woman was attempting to get on I-540 from Capital Boulevard when she crashed. A police spokesperson said she was transported to the hospital, but her injuries were not life-threatening. CBS 17 was at the scene where crews arrived and a red car sustained heavy damage in the crash under the I-540 bridge on Capital Boulevard. NCDOT said the crash was cleared around 8:15 a.m., reopening Capital Boulevard.
