Bus crash in Lake George leaves five injured

LAKE GEORGE | Five people were injured when a tour bus drove off Diamond Point Road late Sunday morning, hitting several trees, an outbuilding, a boat and vehicle. Warren County Sheriff's officials said the accident happened at about 11:15 a.m. near the intersection of Diamond Point Road and Lake Shore Drive. Authorities said the tour bus was traveling in an easterly direction when it failed to stop in the intersection and went off the road through private residential property. The driver and four passengers were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries. The bus was reportedly transporting students and chaperones from New York City-area high schools. The remaining passengers were transported from the scene to the Warren County Sheriff's Office by school bus, which was provided by the Lake George School District.   The passengers were then provided further assistance by members of the Warren County Office of Emergency Services and the American Red Cross until alternate transportation arrangements were made.   The accident remained under investigation Sunday evening, and no additional information was released at that time.
