Burnett County Man Killed in Highway 70 Crash

BURNETT COUNTY — A 69-year-old local man has died following a two-vehicle crash in Grantsburg Township, according to the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office. PRESS RELEASE On Saturday June 6, 2026, at approximately 4:29 pm, Burnett County dispatch was notified of a two-car crash in Grantsburg Township on STH 70 at Johnson Rd. A sedan operated by 69-year-old local man slowed to turn off of STH 70 and was struck from behind by an SUV. The man was flown out to North Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver and occupant of the SUV sustained no injuries. This case is still under investigation, and names will not be released at this time.
