BREAKING: Fatal crash on Highway 87 before Sea Rim State Park
The Texas Department of Public Safety says a 67-year-old passenger died when the driver crashed into the back of a dump truck Friday afternoon on State Highway 87 near Sea Rim State Park. The preliminary crash investigation indicates the driver of the dump truck pulled from a private drive and began traveling east on SH 87. It is reported the driver of a car was traveling east and struck the rear of the dump truck. The driver of the dump truck, identified as 50-year-old Antonio Goris of Port Arthur, wasn't injured. The driver of the passenger car, identified as a 67-year-old man from Beaumont, died at the scene. Highway 87 remained closed for hours.
