Bicyclist killed in Warren Twp. hit-skip crash identified: OSHP

WARREN TWP., Ohio (WKBN) -- The bicyclist killed in a hit-skip crash Thursday in Warren Township has been identified. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 21-year-old Jeffrey Hillard of Warren was killed on the Main Avenue extension just after 11 a.m. Thursday. OSHP said he was struck by a white four-door sedan, and the impact forced both Hillard and the bicycle off the east side of the roadway. OSHP said the driver of the white vehicle fled the scene following the crash. Hillard was not wearing a helmet or protective gear at the time of the incident and died from his injuries on scene, OSHP said. Through investigation, OSHP said the driver and the suspect vehicle have been located and identified. The identity of the driver and vehicle have not yet been released. The crash remains under investigation.
