Bicyclist ID’d after fatal collision with Porsche: CHP Redwood City
(KRON) -- A bicyclist who was fatally struck by a black Porsche Sedan last weekend in unincorporated San Mateo County was identified on Wednesday. The victim has been confirmed by the San Mateo County Coroner's Office as Jakub Solovsky, 34, of East Palo Alto. The California Highway Patrol Redwood City area office said officers responded at 11:25 a.m. on Saturday, July 11 to a two vehicle-crash on Highway 35, south of Highway 84. Investigators believe the Porsche driver was traveling "at high speeds," northbound on Highway 35, when for unknown reasons, they were unable to properly turn a curve and collided into Solovsky. Solovsky was pronounced dead at the scene by fire personnel, according to CHP. The driver was not injured in the incident and stayed at the scene. An investigation is underway.
